Director of Operations

Ecofuel Accelerator

The Director of Operations is actively involved in positioning the Ecofuel platform as the benchmark in supporting startups in clean technologies. Its role includes the organization, management and coordination of activities related to the programming of the Ecofuel Accelerator in order to achieve its operational and strategic objectives in the short and long term.

Responsibilites and Tasks
  • Participates in the establishment of general objectives and strategic orientations for the Accelerator, in the development of action plans and budget forecasts;
  • Establishes, maintains and ensures a presence and contacts in the Accelerator ecosystem, espacially with research community, with financial, socio-economic and government partners, as well as the industrial network and represents, on occasion, the Accelerator within these organizations and networks;
  • Maintains and shares knowledge on orientations, needs and developments in the field of clean technologies in Quebec and elsewhere;
  • Develops and coordinates programming, including the identification of new training, the recruitment of mentors and the organization of events;
  • Ensures a presence with target customers in order to attract the best companies, participates in the evaluation, selection and preparation of companies demonstrating significant potential;
  • Establishes the relationship between the mentors and the selected entrepreneurs;
  • Writes the various administrative reports;
  • Supports the monitoring of indicators required for operations and for the various partnership agreements;
  • Develops business relationships and partnerships, participates in the negotiation and drafting of the required agreements;
  • Supports sponsorships, obtaining various government programs or even activities to supplement funding for the Accelerator;
  • All other tasks related to the job.
Education
  • University degree (baccalaureate) in any field deemed relevant (engineering, IT, agronomy, environmental sciences, other);
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) an asset.
Requirements
  • Being an entrepreneur: founded or co-founded a company;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience, ideally in an industrial environment;
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written.

Business Analyst

Ecofuel Accelerator

The business analyst actively participates in the development of the platform by helping to position it as the benchmark in supporting startups in clean technologies. Using tools and data analysis, helps entrepreneurs determine their critical path and supports them in setting up a first demonstration.

Responsibilites and Tasks
  • Participates in the evaluation, selection and preparation of companies demonstrating significant potential;
  • Establishes a presence and develops contacts in the industrial network, but also in the ecosystem of clean technologies such as financial, socioeconomic and government partners, and occasionally represents the Ecofuel platform within these networks;
  • Using different conclusive databases and applications, including an augmented intelligence tool, develops a personalized dashboard to help entrepreneurs in their business decisions, mainly on competitive aspects such as the value chain;
  • Identifies and collaborates in the development of demonstration sites for products and technologies in order to facilitate the implementation of innovations in companies that have expressed needs for innovation (early adopters). These demonstrations can be done in Quebec and Canada;
  • Collaborates in the production of various administrative reports;
  • Collaborates in the development of the Accelerator’s action plans in connection with the Ecofuel Platform;
  • Participates in the negotiation of agreements with partners;
  • Maintains and shares knowledge on orientations, needs and developments in the field of clean technologies in Quebec and elsewhere;

Financial Analyst

The analyst actively participates in the performance of the Fund by helping to position it as the investor of choice, by performing technical-commercial and financial analysis, by helping to carry out transactions, monitoring companies in the portfolio, while developing general knowledge of investment activities.

Responsibilites and Tasks
  • Contributes to the evaluation, selection and preparation of companies demonstrating potential;
  • Participates in due diligence of projects, including financial analysis of projects and risk assessment, market and technology analysis, development of financing scenarios in accordance with the objectives of the Ecofuel Fund;
  • Collaborate in the preparation of funding proposals, as well as in required letters and documents and ensure corporate standards;
  • Collaborates in the implementation of portfolio management, reporting and analysis tools;
  • Proposes improvements to funding proposals, management, analysis and evaluation tools for investment projects, in line with the objectives of the Fund;
  • Reports and recommends all the measures to be taken to carry out projects successfully and to protect the amounts invested;
  • Prepares and provides the data necessary for accounting for the indicators required for monitoring investments by the Ecofuel Fund;
  • Participates in the periodic evaluation of the Ecofuel Fund’s investment portfolio;
  • Assists the financial department in the production of various reports, in particular for auditing activities as well as the production of reports and other information related to the closure of the Fund’s financial year;
  • Establishes a presence and develops contacts in the ecosystem of the Fund such as the research community, financial, socioeconomic and government partners, as well as with the industrial network and represents Ecofuel, on occasion, within these organizations and networks;
  • Maintains and shares knowledge on funding orientations and development prospects in the field of clean technologies in Quebec and elsewhere;
  • All other tasks related to the job.
Education
  • University degree (baccalaureate) in any field deemed relevant (engineering, computer science, agronomy, environmental sciences, other);
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), training in finance or CFA an asset.
Requirements
